Vortex High-efficiency Air Flotation

1. Principle of the Device&Application Scenarios

The Vortex High-efficiency Air Flotation was originally widely used on offshore oil platforms, specifically in oil-water separation scenarios. It has high requirements for floor space and treatment efficiency. Later, after redevelopment by Suzhou Kaifa Intelligent Equipment Company, it can be applied to ordinary water treatment occasions.

When this equipment treats sewage, it goes through three processes: coagulation, flocculation, and dissolved air flotation separation. The sewage first enters the coagulation reaction tank, where a thorough reaction is achieved through the swirling and cutting effect of the water flow. After the reaction, the mixture flows into the air flotation tank by gravity, and dissolved air water and flocculants are added into the gravity flow pipeline to increase the size of the flocs.

In the dissolved air flotation tank, the sewage forms a vortex-like water flow, causing micro-bubbles to wrap around the flocs and spiral upward to the top of the tank. This allows the flocs to concentrate at the center and be automatically discharged as sludge. Meanwhile, as the floc-containing sewage spirals upward, the treated clear water spirals downward and is discharged from the air flotation tank through the collection pipeline at the bottom of the tank.

Typical applications include it can be widely applied in various fields such as water purification, sewage and wastewater treatment, resource recovery, and river water purification. It is suitable for scenarios including oil-water separation, removal of suspended solids (after coagulation), and separation and recovery of dual/multi-liquid media.

3. Equipment Advantages

  • equipment occupies a small area. Compared with conventional air flotation equipment, it saves 40-70% of the floor space;

  • The equipment has few power-driven devices (no mixers, sludge scrapers, air compressors, etc.), reducing equipment maintenance work by more than 80%. Meanwhile, it is simpler to operate and can achieve unattended operation;

  • The equipment features low operating costs. Its operating power is reduced by more than 30%, making it more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient.

  • The water quality treated by the equipment is better. As the sewage and dissolved air mixed water swirl upward along the bottom of the barrel, the buoyant effect of the dissolved air is continuous compared with traditional air flotation. Moreover, without the disturbance caused by sludge scrapers, the effluent quality is thus better.

  • This equipment has a wide range of applications. It can be widely used in various occasions where air flotation equipment is applicable.
